FAR part 103 says that no person may operate an ultralight vehicle within Class A, Class B, Class C, or Class D airspace or within the lateral boundaries of the surface area of Class E airspace designated for an airport unless that person has prior authorization from the ATC facility having jurisdiction over that airspace. Class G and ordinary Class E airspace is ok. Williston Airport is Class G airspace from the ground up to 700 feet, where Class E airspace begins, as depicted by the shaded magenta circle that surrounds the airport for about 5 nautical miles in a circle. The grass runway 18/36 and the area surrounding our launch area all fall in Class G airspace until you climb to 700 feet where it becomes Class E airspace. Although it is legal to fly your paramotor in this area, be aware that other aircraft, much faster than paramotors, are using this airspace. You must give way to them! Do not fly over the paved runways.
